Windows Live Movie Maker Tutorial 1
Create a Video in Movie Maker — Using Still Images (photos)
- Launch Movie Maker:
Click →Start →Programs →Windows Live Movie Maker
- Add Pictures:
From the Home tab
click Add videos and photos ![]()
The Add videos and photos window opens.
Scroll down until you find the drive you require.
Double click on that drive. Locate the folder you require.
Double click on that folder.
Assuming the images are in that folder!
All files in that folder are displayed in the window.
To select the files:
Hold down the Ctrl key and click on all the photos, then click Open.
The files selected will now appear in the Movie Maker window and are ready for editing.

- Add Title:
From the Home tab
click the Add Title button![]()
Type in your title — Chicago Tour 
use the Background colour
button
and Font colour
button (to choose different colours)
- Set Playing time (Duration) for photo:
Select the photo (by clicking on it)
Click on the Video Tools Edit tab
Change the Duration value from 7.00 
to 3.00
← Click here or type to change value
The playing time for the Title can be set in the same way.
- Add a Transition / Pan and Zoom:
Click on the Animations tab
You can then choose to apply a Transition or Pan and Zoom effect.
Transitions
Click on the Transition you ↓ would like to apply.
The transition will be previewed on screen
Pan and Zoom
Click on the Pan and Zoom you would like ↓ to apply.
The pan and zoom will be previewed on screen
The full range of transitions/pan and zooms can be viewed by clicking on the scroll buttons →
Remove a Transition / Pan and Zoom
Select photo or photos and click on the left hand option :
No Transition / No Pan and Zoom

- Add Music:
From the Home tab
click the Add Music button 
Click Add Music 
Navigate to mp3 or wav audio/music file
Click Open
Music track will appear above photo clips 
Remove Music:
Right click on music track and click Remove
Note: any mp3 or wav file can be used instead of 'dundee'
- Previewing the video:
Click on Play button which is below the preview window
